I have always believed that you can never shut the door on a child that even a smile can change them forever. I love seeing this at work in your life in mine in Mary's. I think it may be the strongest cord that binds us all of us, here. xoox
I am thrilled for you! And no Jackal! I know it was small acts of kindness from adults that made all the difference in my turbulent childhood. What a beautiful connection.

Barbara, it made everything finally fall into place. The windfall money the house the BIG house and the importance of meeting Z and having the conversation we had after which her uncle said You'll like it here on the island there's lots of artsy fartsy types here and he did not mean it as a compliment. It's just that Z's and my conversation went over his head.
