Yesterday I saw a juvenile hawk sitting on the ground in the woods, probably eating something. As I passed by, he spread his wings which seemed impossibly huge, and flew up into the lower branches of a nearby tree and simply stood and looked at me as I took his picture which is, by the way, very blurry.

I have promised myself did so promise when I was barely eight never to forget to look around. I think this is what made me a writer I think it is the same thing that made my son a photographer. It is how we (and you) observe the care we take in noticing (every every thing.)
